Permissions
Each provider has modes that decide which actions run without asking. When an agent hits an action its mode does not allow, it pauses and raises a permission request. Every connected client sees it and can answer it.
Modes by provider
Section titled “Modes by provider”| Provider | Modes (default in bold) | Unattended mode |
|---|---|---|
| Claude | plan, default (“Always ask”), acceptEdits, auto, bypassPermissions |
bypassPermissions |
| Codex | auto, auto-review, full-access |
full-access |
| Copilot | agent, plan, allow-all | allow-all |
| OpenCode | build, plan; plus an Auto accept toggle |
Auto accept |
| Oh My Pi | full, write, ask |
full |
| Pi | No modes; only question prompts | — |
| ACP agents | Whatever the agent reports; plus an Auto accept toggle | Auto accept |
List a provider’s modes with frogg provider ls or an agent’s with
frogg agent mode <id> --list. Change mode mid-conversation from the composer or with
frogg agent mode <id> <mode>.
Claude auto uses Claude Code’s own classifier; Codex auto-review adds Codex’s
automatic reviewer to on-request approvals. The daemon does not add rules of its own on
top of a provider’s mode.
Answer requests
Section titled “Answer requests”-
App: Accept or Deny on the request card. Some requests offer extra choices from the provider (for example “always allow this command”).
-
CLI:
Terminal window frogg permissions lsfrogg permissions allow <agent-id> [request-id]frogg permissions allow <agent-id> --allfrogg permissions deny <agent-id> --message "Use the staging database" --interrupt--input '<json>'allows the action with edited tool input. -
MCP:
list_pending_permissionsandrespond_to_permission, for agents that supervise other agents.
Pending requests raise desktop notifications. The daemon also sends push notifications to mobile devices when no client has been active recently.
Run unattended
Section titled “Run unattended”Pick the provider’s unattended mode, or tell the orchestrating agent to create children unattended: the daemon then picks each target provider’s unattended mode and turns on Auto accept for ACP agents. A child on the same provider inherits its parent’s mode.
Daemon access is separate
Section titled “Daemon access is separate”Permission modes control what an agent may do. Who may control the daemon is set by LAN trust, pairing and passwords; see connect and pair and security. Every paired device currently has full access.
